UV Air Purifiers Control Asthma

UV Air Cleaner And Asthma Symptoms

    UV facts

While they don't cause it, many airborne microorganisms aggravate the condition of people with asthma. The American-Lights® UV unit can help control the germs that make your asthma worse. These are the most common indoor germs and the measures you can take against them:
  • Dust Mites - Many people with asthma are sensitive to dust mites. Dust mites are like invisible tiny “bugs” that live in cloth, carpet and bed sheets. You can wash your pillow, sheets and blankets each week in hot water (must be hotter than 130ºF) to kill the mites. With the American-Lights® UV system you can disinfect your air, to help reduce the airborne dust mites and their by-products.

  • Indoor Mold - You can fix water leaks or other sources of moisture and treat moldy surfaces with Sporicidin Enzyme Mold Cleaner and Disinfectant Solution. In many cases mold grows on the coil and drain pan so the American-Lights® UV air cleaner will reduce or eliminate* mold and mold spores from the indoor air and will inhibit mold growth inside the HVAC system.

  • Flu - You can get the seasonal flu shots and you can also install the American-Lights® UV air cleaner to help you limit the distribution of airborne flu and cold viruses in your indoor air.

The UV air cleaners give you an effective way to reduce or eliminate* germs such as bacteria, viruses, mold, dust mites, fungi and spores from the air of your home by disinfecting the indoor air with germicidal ultraviolet UVC light. If properly positioned the UV light will also keep the coil and drain pan area in the AC unit free of mold and bacteria.
